Meta Ray-Ban Display Smart Glasses Review: Amazing Tech, But Do They Look Good? (2026)

I had the chance to test the Meta Display AI Smart Glasses, and it was an eye-opening experience! But are they worth the hype?

Back in September, the tech world was abuzz with Meta's latest innovation: an upgraded version of their Smart Glasses, now equipped with a camera, AI assistant, and a mind-blowing display projected onto the lens. This display is only visible to the wearer, creating an immersive and interactive experience.

I was determined to get my hands on a pair during my trip to San Francisco, but it wasn't an easy task. With limited availability and a booking system in place, I had to settle for a demo at a Best Buy store in Los Angeles. Despite the hassle, I was ready to purchase them, no questions asked.

The demo experience exceeded my expectations. The staff member, Israel, was incredibly helpful and patient. He offered me two sizes to try, and the standard fit was perfect. The real game-changer, however, was the Meta Neural Band. This wristband, sized perfectly for me, allows you to control the on-screen menus with simple gestures. And it's incredibly intuitive!

The navigation was seamless. I could tap to click, swipe with a relaxed fist, and even take photos and zoom in with a twist of my wrist. It felt like the future of wearable tech. I was impressed, to say the least.

But here's where it gets controversial: the design. While the technology is remarkable, the glasses themselves are thick and, in my opinion, not aesthetically pleasing. I couldn't see myself wearing them regularly, unlike my usual Ray-Ban Meta glasses. It's a fashion statement that might not appeal to everyone.

Despite the design, I was ready to buy them on the spot. But, unfortunately, they were sold out with a waiting list until March or April. A real bummer!

These glasses are undoubtedly a significant step forward in interactive smart technology. They offer an incredible experience, but the design might be a deal-breaker for some. I'd still love to own a pair to showcase the future of tech to others.

As a technology commentator, I'm always on the lookout for the next big thing. These glasses have the potential to revolutionize how we interact with our devices, but will they become a mainstream hit? What do you think? Are you team 'revolutionary tech' or team 'fashion-forward'?
