Pedro Vasconcelos, who serves on EDP’s executive board and oversees operations in the Asia-Pacific region, explained, “We have been gradually scaling down markets that, although previously considered options, are not developing as quickly or at the scale we need to justify further investment.” This strategic retrenchment is intended to free up resources, enabling EDP to focus more intensely on key markets such as Singapore, Australia, and Japan—regions they believe hold the most promise for sustainable growth.
